The Family Connections Project, Family Support Center at the Nemasket Group is looking at hiring a motivated, creative people to assist families in the Greater New Bedford Area in Learning techniques and gathering information necessary to advocate and care for their family member. Work with the family as a whole. Finding, introducing and when necessary, creating community services which will enhance their daily lives.
Currently, we have a 20 hour per week opening .
Qualifications: B.A. in Human Services, education or a related field. At least 5 years experience working with families, or in advocacy or in community organizing related to design and intent of Family Support. Additional experience can be substituted for educational requirements at the discretion of the Director of Family Connections. A High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license and vehicle are required. Bi lingual in Spanish preferred.

The Building Futures Project at the Nemasket Group is looking at hiring highly motivated, creative people to support students with disabilities to be active members of their communities. Students are supported to work in local businesses, attend local Colleges, develop life skills and participate in activities with their friends. This is an exciting project that requires staff who are serious in doing a great job. Currently, we have two unique and great job opportunities available.
Position 1
The Building Futures Project is looking to hire a high motivated, creative and flexible professional to support a young lady (20 years old) with Autism living in the Wareham area. Person should be available to begin this summer and continue in the fall. Duties include providing community support in peer based leisure activities and job support.
Position 2
Building Futures is seeking a self directed and highly organized person to provide support to a young man (19 years old) on the Autism Spectrum, 15 – 25 hours a week. Person should be available to begin training this summer and continue in the fall. Some knowledge in supporting an individual with autism is preferred, but not mandatory. Job description would entail supporting this young man at different jobs in the community, helping him to develop relationships with his peers, teaching life skills in the home, and providing academic support as he attends classes at a local Community College.

Support Staff – Community Living
Community Living Support Staff provide personalized assistance and use methods that promote independence enabling individuals to accomplish activities of daily living including but not limited to: dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, medical/health issues, dietary concerns, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, budgeting and finances, safety issues, and general household responsibilities.
In addition, Community Living Support Staff provide support to fulfill meaningful individual interests in community integration, companionship, and relationship building. Community Living Support Staff also build bridges that connect the individual to their community including but not limited to the individual's friends and family members, support groups and other organizations.
Evening, weekend, and overnight hours available on a part-time and/or full-time basis.

Shared Living Provider/Support Staff – female housemate
Energetic, cheerful, and positive person wanted to share a home with two ladies living in the center of Fairhaven .
The Nemasket Group Inc. supports individuals with disabilities in the community through a variety of means including the shared living model. A Shared Living Provider will live as a housemate with the individual(s) in a positive, natural, and supportive environment. The Shared Living Provider will also provide support, supervision, and training, and be available to sleep in the home from 10 pm to 7 am for a minimum of 5 nights per week.
In exchange the Shared Living Provider will have a private bedroom and bathroom, receive clinical support, training, and emergency backup, in addition to a stipend and various benefits totaling $17,757 annually (including a weekly stipend, health and dental insurance, life & disability insurance, gym membership at Healthtrax, 90 hours of vacation per year, free rent and household utilities/expenses).
